Marlar records seventh-place finish in Eldora Million

After topping the massive 124-car field in time trials, Mike raced from fourth in his heat to pick up the win. Starting the $12,000-to-win preliminary feature in fourth, Marlar clawed forward one spot in the 25-lap affair to register a third-place finish. He followed Chris Ferguson and Chris Madden across the line.
Later Thursday evening for heat races leading up to the Eldora Million finale, Marlar grabbed the second-and-final transfer spot in his heat to lock into the seventh-starting position for the $1,002,022-to-win main event. Carrying a steady pace in the 101-lap affair, Mike notched a seventh-place finish.
On Friday afternoon as the 28th annual Dirt Late Model Dream got underway with a pair of prelims, Mike laid down the fifth-fastest time in his group before bagging a heat race victory. With $12,000 on the line in the feature, Marlar was credited with a 23rd-place outing after getting collected in a tangle with a lapped car.
He planned to pull out his secondary car for the Dirt Late Model Dream finale later Saturday evening but decided to scratch after he discovered he would have to tag the tail of his heat.
