Marlar kicks off 2024 speedweeks at Volusia Speedway Park

With Thursday’s opener falling victim to Mother Nature, Mike Marlar returned to the driver’s seat of the Skyline Motorsports No. 157 Late Model on Friday at Volusia Speedway Park (De Leon Springs, Fla.) for the World of Outlaws Case Late Model Series-sanctioned DIRTcar Sunshine Nationals.

Alongside 55 Late Model competitors, Mike backed up the second-fastest time in his 28-car group in time trials with a heat race victory. Rolling off third for the opener via the redraw, Marlar was an early retiree on lap 23.

Marlar’s DIRTcar Sunshine Nationals came to an early end on Saturday after bringing out a caution on the fourth circuit of the feature and again on lap 32.
