Marlar finishes sixth in Fairbury's LOLMDS Spring Shootout

With both Castrol FloRacing Night in America events on Wednesday and Thursday affected by wet weather, Mike Marlar kicked off his weekend on Friday with a stout field of 54 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) entries at Farmer City Raceway (Farmer City, Ill.) for the Farmer City 74.

Racing into the 74-lap opener with a heat race victory, Marlar rallied from the tail to finish 16th after slipping over the cushion in turn one on lap 53.

For the FALS Spring Shootout on Saturday at Fairbury Speedway (Fairbury, Ill.), Mike topped the 47-car field in time trials with a blistering 13.403-second lap before placing first in his heat. Starting on the pole for the $30,000-to-win A-Main, Marlar rolled to a sixth-place finish in the 60-lap affair.

With Saturday's finish, Mike climbed to fourth in the latest LOLMDS point standings.
